The Metropolitan is a condominium located in a historic, 17-story former bank building at 20 Marietta Street in Downtown Atlanta. Located at the intersection of Marietta and Broad Street, just one block northwest of Five Points, The Metropolitan stands at the heart of Downtown Atlanta.
One of Atlanta's first skyscrapers, The Metropolitan was built in 1911. The 17-story building was purchased by Novare in 1995 as part of a complex four-way transaction. An office building at the time of sale, The Metropolitan was converted to loft apartments in 1996 and leased to the Australian Olympic Contingency during the 1996 Olympic Games. Following the Olympics, the lofts were leased on the local market. As demand increased, Novare converted the building in 1998 to condominiums and saw a rapid sale of all units. |
